Ultimate Easy Pool Maintenance

Royal Swimming Pools recommends that you pick any day of the week that will be your pool maintenance day for every week. Test your swimming pool water using FROG test strips. Adjust the total alkalinity level to 120 ppm. Any level on the test strip of 80 to 150 is ok. Add baking soda or Royal’s Alkalinity Increaser to increase the level. Add muriatic acid or Royal’s Alkalinity Decreaser to lower the alkalinity. After making adjustments to the total alkalinity, allow the pool to circulate then re-test the pool water before adjusting the pH balance to 7.4 to 7.6 with Royal’s pH Balancing Chemicals. Adjust the Calcium Hardness to 200 ppm with Royal’s Hardness Increaser.

When opening your swimming pool for the season or on your initial treatment, add 2 lbs (4 scoops) of Royal Concentrated Pool Blend per 10,000 gallons of pool water. Every week thereafter, add 1 lb (2 scoops) of Royal Concentrated Pool Blend per 10,000 gallons preferably near a return jet. Do not use more than the recommended amount. Compare Royal Concentrated Pool Blend to E-Z Pool.

Add one Royal 3” Chlorine Tablet per 10,000 gallons of water to a Floating or Automatic Chlorinator to maintain a 0.5 to 1.0 ppm chlorine level. If you have a Salt Chlorine Generator or FROG Mineral System, set the chlorinator to a low setting and only use 1/2 the normal amount of Royal Concentrated Pool Blend      (1 scoop per 10,000 gallons).

Add any brand of Royal’s Water Clarifier or flocculant such as Revive or Super Blue

Keep the pool phosphates level under 250 ppm. Phosphates in your pool come from lawn fertilizer, leaves in the pool, certain pool chemicals, and your city's water supply. Laundry detergents, and skin and hair products may also contain phosphates.

Royal Concentrated Pool Blend when used with pool clarifier will cause the impurities in the swimming pool water to settle on the pool floor. Run a Cosmy or Maytronics robotic pool cleaner as needed to clean up the debris from the pool.

Follow this easy swimming pool maintenance program week after week to enjoy sparkling clean and clear pool water.
