Furthering Our Knowledge in the Industry

Last Thursday, several of our staff members attended the annual APSP (Association of Pool and Spa Professionals) Conference for the Mid-South area. This conference is a great time for professionals in the industry to get together. Not only can we learn about new and existing products, we can also give and get advice about what YOU, our customers, have to say about these products and service.

I would like to feature the APSP in this blog because they are such a great organization and have really helped to develop our industry into what it is today. Here is a small excerpt about APSP:

“The Association of Pool & Spa Professionals is the world’s oldest and largest association representing swimming pool, spa, and hot tub manufacturers, manufacturers’ agents, builders, designers, distributors, suppliers, installers, retailers, and service technicians. Dedicated to the growth and development of its members’ businesses and to promoting the enjoyment and safety of pools and spas, APSP offers a range of services, from professional development to advancing key legislation and regulation at all levels, to consumer outreach and public safety. APSP is the only industry organization recognized by the American National Standard Institute to develop and promote national standards for pools, hot tubs, and spas.”

As you can see, the APSP plays a very key role in the pool and spa industry and ensures customers get the products and services they need. We are proud to be a member of APSP and have been for over 10 years.

There were a multitude of classes and new products at the show, here are quotes from some of our employees who attended!

“I learned about the UV technology that is becoming a popular method to sanitize pool and spa water. It dramatically reduces chemical use and destroys micro-organisms.”

“Throughout pool season, I am asked many questions about how products from various manufacturers and work together. It was great to have the opportunity to speak with individual manufacturer’s representatives in person to get a better understanding of the compatibility between products so that I can pass on the knowledge and technical information to my customers.”

“I saw a light controller at the show which gave a homeowner the ability to easily control pool lights and other pool accessories with their phone or other electronic devices. Instead of having to go outside and flip a switch or connect a plug, with this controller, turning the lights on or off, or even changing the color of some lights is now as simple as a quick slide of the finger!”
